I am completely besotted with my latest acquisition: a selection of posters from the turn of the last century. These are just three of a small lot I have. Regular readers will understand that with my fascination for both typography and ephemera these posters press all my buttons. The King's illness in this case was that of Edward VII in 1902 and the Boer War Posters date from 1900. You can almost see the grain of the wooden block letters. There's some careful repair and conservation work to be done but in that phrase beloved of booksellers, I think these genuinely count as "rare survivals".
